Soon enough Reyez was being approached by more artists, but she decided to focus more on building a platform of her own. Through this program, Reyez was introduced to King Louie who she collaborated on a few songs with, “Living in the Sky”, “My World”, in 2014 that gained her a bit of buzz. This is a program for low-income young adults to teach them about music and the arts. Once she started getting recognition for a music video she made, Reyez packed up and took off back to her home town and became involved with the Remix Project. After graduating high school, Reyez was playing clubs in Toronto and singing on the street with her own original music.įor a short time, Reyez and her family moved to Florida, however the Miami life didn’t sit with her well.
Needless to say, music was all around her. With her father as a teacher, Reyez learned to play the guitar as a child and was a committed hip-hop dancer for the formative years of her life.
